Eric maintains an active career in both the jazz and classical worlds, composing, performing and recording. A graduate of MIT and the Performing Arts School in Louisville, he has worked with Pulitzer composers John Harbison and Karel Husa, legendary jazz teachers Jamey Aebersold, Herb Pomeroy and Charlie Banacos. He has written articles on the nature of music, its instruction and performance, making his own contributions to the legacy of these masters and the teaching approach of Mr. Banacos in particular.

Classical compositions have premiered in Louisville and Boston by orchestral and chamber ensembles, including the Muir and Manhattan String Quartets. Jazz compositions include an acclaimed arrangement of Tutu (Marcus Miller/Miles Davis), Peter Bernstein's 'Dragonfly' and 'Just A Thought' for the MIT Festival Jazz Ensemble.

Recording credits include jazz quartet and solo piano CDs, song cycles of Schoenberg and Webern, and a critically acclaimed CD release and show with soprano Karyn Levitt of Hanns Eisler songs in English translation by Eric Bentley.

Eric also maintains an active performing schedule with his own quartet, and in regular collaboration with NYC-based guitarist Peter Seckel, for the continuance of live jazz music in the 21st century - including an expanding library of over 70 original tunes.
